Business Women's Attend Brawley Group's Meeting
Representatives of the El Centro branch of the Business and Professional Women's Club attended the installation of new officers of the Brawley chapter Monday night at the Planter's Hotel in Brawley.
Speaker for the evening was Sheriff Robert W. Ware, who described forgery cases in the valley. He displayed enlarged photostatic copies of forged checks and explained the system used for detecting wrong signatures.
Following Sheriff Ware's talk, Mercedes Wilson, program chairman, introduced a short musical program.
The installation took place after the program with Louise Kennedy, outgoing president, as installing officer.
Refreshments were served at the close of the evening, the table being decorated with spring flowers.
Those present from the El Centro chapter were Mary Hancock, Evelyn Allen, Merta Thompson, Florence Glenn, Evelyn Beatty, Marie Welch, Flossie Jo Burson, Florence Carlson and a guest Mrs. Fannie McCrory.
