When reports are submitted at the Dover association next week they will show that more than 2,500 new members were secured during the last year by the twenty-eight Baptist churches of Richmond. It was stated that none of the churches went through the year without getting new members, and only two churches fell below forty additions.
Fairmount Avenue Baptist led with 207 additions, Venable Street got 197; and Stockton Street, South Richmond, 145. It is stated that a large measure of the increased membership can be attributed to the vigorous campaign waged here by Billy Sunday.
The financial condition of the association was never better. All activities of the association, which is to meet at Bethlehem, will be centered around the $75,000,000 drive. Among the prominent ministers to talk on this subject are Dr. George W. McDaniel, Rev. C. B. Arendall and Dr. R. D. Garland.
