Last Wednesday the artillery company, with their field-pieces, commanded by Major Hodge, and four companies of militia, of the train-band, belonging to this town, were joined by three from Salisbury and two from Amesbury, commanded by Col. Cross, nine companies in all, and in high-street performed the exercise, as recommended by Baron Steuben, together with many military evolutions, to the entire satisfaction of a large number of spectators, who were convened on the occasion--after which they paraded through the principal streets of the town--then returned again to high-street, where they repeated the exercise in presence of Major-General Titcomb, discharged the field-pieces, as well as small arms, and were dismissed---All the officers of the different companies, and the whole of the artillery company were uniformly dressed, and the men which composed the train-band very decently clothed---In their march through the town they made a very respectable and martial appearance---After dismission, the officers repaired to Captain Ezra Lunt's, where a genteel entertainment was provided---there the utmost harmony prevailed--thirteen toasts were drank, and the evening very agreeably spent.--The whole concluded without any accident--and the regular and orderly behaviour of officers and men is spoken of with the highest approbation.
