YORK. England (A) - The dashing Duke of Kent yesterday brought Miss Katherine Worsley --a country girl and a commoner into the British royal family as his bride in Britain's wedding of the year.

Forty-six TV cameras recorded the service at the 1,334-year-old Anglican Cathedral.

The service was attended by Queen Elizabeth II and a glittering guest list of foreign royalty.

The ceremony was performed by the Archbishop of York, Dr. William Ramsey.

It was the second consecutive wedding of a member of the royal family to a commoner.

The bride a fair-haired former tomboy with a turned-up nose is the daughter of a well-to-do squire, Sir William Worsley.

She is 28, three years senior to the Duke.
