J. C. Lilly the big, jolly New York and Philadelphia representative of the Belding-Hall Co. enjoys a joke on the other fellow as well as anyone but once in a while he gets it turned on himself. He was driving several miles east of here Sunday, with J. E. and B. F. Hall and Mr. Rose of New York, a heavy customer of his, when meeting a small boy he thought to have a little fun and quizzed him considerable about a variety of subjects. As he was about to drive on he asked the boy if they had many "hoo-hoos" in that vicinity (eastern term for owl). The boy looked up, cocked one eye and said "No I hadn't seen any until you came."

He drove on without delay.
