QUERIES.
Did not Duff Green, 'during his recent 'raising the wind' tour South, in his public addresses in Caroline County, and elsewhere, pointedly and strongly condemn the Sub-Treasury system as then first proposed by Mr. Gouge in his book on Banking?
Did the Merchant and Reformer ever support such a system until it was known 'how the cat would jump?'
Did not editorial articles appear in the aforesaid paper, in opposition to a Sub-Treasury system, previous to a certain demonstration?
Did not a certain distinguished Senator keep dark himself, as to his movements, until a certain period?
Did not a certain distinguished Senator come to Washington opposed to withholding the Deposites from the State Banks—and did he not afterwards vote for withholding them?
Who has been most active during the extra session in supporting all the Administration measures—as Postponement of the Deposites—Treasury Notes—Sub-Treasury, and all?
Who, belonging to the Administration party, can equal in intellect and ability J. C. Calhoun?
Who, in the Whig party, stands in the way of J. C. Calhoun?
