Valaida Snow, former star of Leslie's Rhapsody in Black, fell into the clutches of the law again Friday afternoon when it is reported she was arrested here, charged with disorderly conduct and corrupting the morals of her former young husband, Annanias Berry Jr., and with impairing the young dancer's health. Young Berry is also being held for breaking his working contract with his father, A.J.W. Berry, 81, manager who holds a contract on the Berry brothers until 1938 and for refusing to return to his home in New York, he being a minor and therefore coming under the protection of his parents.
Pleads With Husband
Since the Berry Brothers played Atlantic City, Annanias Berry, Jr., listening to the pleas of his former spouse who confessed upon the witness stand in Media, Pa., even a week ago that he had two husbands came to Philadelphia with Valaida, leaving Doris James, his teammate and father to return alone to New York. Valaida informed Annanias in Atlantic City that she was homeless, penniless and without a friend in the world.
