NINE CRIMINAL CASES
HEARD IN CITY COURT.

Jury in One Case Not Agreed at Late
Hour Last Night.

Yesterday was criminal day in the
City Court and nine cases were before
Judge Norwood for disposition.

In eight of them convictions were secured.

In the ninth, an assault and battery
case, the jury was still out at a late
hour last night. The defendants in
this case were Messrs. W. H. Howard
and I. G. Edwards. They were charged
with assaulting another white man
after a heated argument ending in
the passing of the lie.

The following is the list of convictions secured and the sentences imposed:

Hattie Adams, larceny from house,
$30 or twelve months.

Jim Porker, larceny from house, (two
charges), $30 or twelve months on each.

Shelby Tilley, larceny from house,
$40 or twelve months.

Henry Singleton, carrying concealed
weapons. $30 or nine months.

Rufus Barnett, larceny from house,
$40 or twelve months.

Amos Cralg, larceny from house
$35 or twelve months.
