Mr. B. M. Geary, a resident of the Skinner Farm, furnishes us with the facts of a very scandalous affair which occurred at Pioneer a few mornings since, and which if true, and he vouches for their truth, ought to result in the kicking out of decent society of the principal actor therein. The facts appear to be that two highly respectable young ladies, nieces of Mr. Geary's wife, started from his house on the morning in question for Pioneer, one of whom intended to take the early morning train for Rochester, the other going down to keep her company. They arrived at the station about fifteen minutes before the train arrived and before the station house was opened. Upon the arrival of the agent, they went inside the house and sat down by the fire, when according to their statements, the aforesaid individual came out of the office and undertook to take undue liberties with the person of one of them and grossly insulted both of them, and was only compelled to desist when one of them got her temper up and threatened to split his head open with an axe which lay near by. When the train arrived one of them went away and the other one went back home and related to her uncle, Mr. Geary, what had occurred. If the facts are as stated, and we have no reason to doubt Mr. Geary's word, an example should be made of an individual, who when placed in public position and as a servant of the public, so far forgets himself as to insult defenseless women. We feel sure the gentlemanly managers of the Oil Creek & Allegheny River Railway will frown down anything of the kind.
