Full Text

I can't express my thanks to the Lord
For his wonderful blessings, as I desire
He has blessed me here for 76 years,
From the Kingdom of Heaven on high.
The 22nd day of February, I was born
It is 76 years happy to know
That the Lord has blessed me to lift
Up Jesus everywhere I go.
I cannot forget his wonderful blessings
And I shall obey his will
He gave me a chance to preach his word,
From the valley to the top of the hill.
He said go into all the world
He did not segregate no race
Jesus said to one and all,
"Love ye one another," he did not mention the color of face.
We must obey the will of God
He didn't mention the color of man
He made Job out of the dust of the earth
And he must have been a colored man.
He could have made Eve out of dust,
But he made her out of the rib of man
He took Adam's rib
His rib was white as white sand.
This was the cause of everything
And the cause was sin, nothing else
Eve was made from Adam's rib
And the rib was from Adam's breast.
When the Lord made man, he then looked
Man was in the image of God, we are told
He blew breath into his nostrils
And he became a living soul.
If the Lord had not made woman
And left man here all alone
There would be no Jim Crow churches,
And we all would be getting along together.
When the Lord made man he did not sin
He made man, and then he made woman; then sin began
Woman was made from the rib of man
Ever since she's been born, hell is in this land.
