A long letter is published in the Prairie Farmer for November, respecting the person, history and success of Jacob Strawn, the famous cattle dealer of Morgan Co., Ill. His career exemplifies what may be accomplished by uniting labor and a complete absorbing devotion to one pursuit. The monomania of Mr. S. is trading in cattle. He was born in Somerset co., Pa.—lived eleven years in Licking co., O., and came to Illinois in 1831. He has 7,800 acres in Morgan, and 8,500 in Sangamon county. His physical and mental activity seems much like that of Bonaparte.
