Two children suffered possible serious injuries and a score of others lesser injuries in traffic accidents over the week-end.
Four-year-old Anita Westenberger, 472 Twenty-fourth st., is in Emergency hospital today suffering with a possible skull fracture and numerous cuts and bruises. She was struck at Twenty-fourth and Cherry sts. yesterday by a car driven by Orville Henkle, 2405 Garfield ave. Henkle will be questioned today by the traffic department.
Boy, 10, Hit.
Stepping from an automobile parked in the front of his home George Sprague, 10 years old, 769 Sixty-fourth ave., was struck by a motorist yesterday. He suffered a possible skull fracture. The driver of the car was not held.
Edward Minor, 35 years old, 218 Sixth st., succumbed last night in Emergency hospital to injuries suffered when he was hit by a hit-and-run driver at Sixth st. and Juneau ave. Friday night.
Car Driver Flees
A motor truck driver fled after knocking an 11-year-old child into the ditch today. The victim is Zenon Sawicki, West Allis, in the county hospital with minor injuries. Zenon was on the way to school when injured on the Beloit road.
John Aird, 21 years old, 4622 Thirty-second st., who drove into a freight car at a grade crossing, is in Emergency hospital with a head injury, and will face reckless driving charges, according to police.
Aird drove into the side of the car as it was being switched at the Milwaukee road crossing at Cameron and Thirty-third sts, early today.
Sangor Is Hurt.
Joey Sangor, former Milwaukee boxer, suffered several cuts to his face when his car ran into a telephone pole at Thirty-ninth st. and Auer ave, late yesterday. Sangor was treated at Milwaukee hospital.
Dave Cohen, a Milwaukee contractor and friend of Sangor, was in the car with Sangor, but escaped uninjured.
A collision between a street car and an automobile at Fifth st. and Meinecke ave. brought injuries to four persons. Those injured are Evelyn Rahn, 1494 Hubbard st.; Lawrence Dierbeck, 755 Fifteenth st.; Mildred Newbauer and Herman Hoersig, 2617 Monroe st.
Five Are Hurt.
A short time later five other persons were injured in a collision on Meinecke ave., a few blocks distant. They are Mrs. Agatha Nickel and her son, Stanley, 1299 Twelfth st.; Edward Keller and his wife, Barbara, 1108 Eighth st., and Joseph Nickel, same address.
Other victims of traffic mishaps are Dorothy Mangold, 897 Woodward st.; Edwin Turner, 6 years old, 637 1/2 Nineteenth st.; Charles Hiller, 6 years old, living in the Blue Mound railroad yard; Geraldine Lopez, 20 years old, 263 Thirteenth st.; Mrs. Claret Steinberg, 47 years old, 462 East Water st.; Ethel Hurley, 21 years old, 411 Elmdale court; Mrs. Antonia Lewandowski, 74 years old, 1029 Eleventh ave., and Henry Luedtke, 44 years old, 349 National ave.
Two men were injured when their automobile was demolished by a North Western road train at Twenty-seventh and Lincoln aves. Ted Jeske, 28 years old, 741 Ninth ave., suffered a fracture of the shoulder and Rock Evans, 47 years old, 5504 Marshall ave., West Allis, suffered head injuries and fractured ribs.
