Full Text

A Raleigh paper of the 21st instant, says,—

"On Friday evening last, the plantations in the neighborhood of this place, were considerably injured by a hail storm. Its ravages were chiefly confined to the waters of Crabtree—Some of the hail stones the next day measured 9 inches in circumference!!!—It not only beat the growing corn into the ground, but knocked off most of the fruit from the trees. and in some places the ground is covered with the verdure of the pines and other growth, which it has entirely left naked—killed lambs, pigs, poultry & birds—crippled several grown cattle, and done considerable other damage. The next morning was remarkably warm, which is singular immediately after a hail storm."
