Stoddard yesterday received a request from the interstate railroad commission, now in session at Spokane, asking him to secure rooms where the hearing of Reno's rate demand may be heard. The date fixed for the arrival of the federal commission is October 28, and the Reno men are preparing for a stubborn fight. They expect to secure at least the concession of the abolition of the fiction of a back haul charge between Reno and Sacramento, which has always been looked upon as an injustice.
