John Dice has been visiting his sister, Mrs. A. J. Lytle.
If you haven't a cold or la grippe you are not in style at all.
Mrs. T. C. Steddom recently spent several days with her brother and family at What Cheer.
O. L. Steddom and family and A. R. Hellinga and family visited at the Sarah Steddom home Sunday.
Mrs. W. L. Johnson has been very sick and was under the care of Dr. Jerreld Shelts reported better.
Mrs. Will Boyd and are in Corning. C. G. summoned by A. Grayson got a shot at a wolf last week. He followed it for several miles and finally got away from him.
Mrs. J. A. Reynolds visited the school last Friday afternoon and treated the children to popcorn balls.
Wm. Lourey has gone to Missouri to take another look at the country to be sure whether he wants to locate there.
Dillon Stalker has the brick on the ground for the foundation of his new house on the land he recently purchased of George Terrell.
If the ground hog comes out to-day in this blustery weather he will be glad enough to go back for a few weeks stay. He can see his shadow part of the day.
It has been suggested that THE HERALD reporters start a hospital fund. This can be done in any way that suits best. Some can begin this winter by giving oyster suppers, while it would suit others better to wait till warm weather and have lawn socials. I suppose we could all find some way that we could contribute to this worthy cause.
There will be quite a moving about in this neighborhood the first of March. W. K. Sopher will go to Indianola and the farm where he is will be occupied by Mr. Jones from Pleasant Plain. Charlie Voss will go to Missouri and that place will be occupied by another Mr. Voss. Mr. Vannest to his place north of the city and Mr. Butler, of Leighton, will take possession of his place. Dillon Stalker will go to the city and A. Caldwell will take possession of the Stalker farm. Guy Pomeroy to his farm near Wright and A. Kirk to the Nash farm. Richard Masteller to his property west of the Yearly meeting house.
