The Turks and Russians, are gone into Winter Quarters, and the Grand Vizier return'd to Constantinople, having left his Army miserably weakened by Sickness and Desertion. 'Tis not doubted but the Czarina will be able to make a Peace upon her own Terms before Spring, the Sophi of Persia enlarging his Demands every Day, the Emperor just ready to make an Invasion, the Country drained of Men, the Seraglio exhausted of Money, the whole Empire groaning under miserable Oppressions, and the Metropolis, which received its Provisions principally from Crim Tartary, already pinched with Scarcity, and dreading a Famine.
