CLEVELAND--Wage increases of 10½ cents per hour for conductors and five and one-half cents per hour for brakemen, retroactive to May 1, 1955, were obtained by the BRT in a recent mediation agreement on River Terminal Railway.
An understanding also was reached that the yardmasters would be compensated for their services in the same degree and by the same pattern as has been applied to conductors and brakemen.
Walter Grady, deputy president, and his committee met with Mediator C. Robert Roadley of National Mediation Board and management in the negotiations.
