JUNIOR CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS
At an impressive ceremony held
Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in
the Catholic Parish hall, six girls
were initiated into the Junior Cath-
olic Daughters of America. Those
receiving the honors
were Mary
Nordale, Harriet Meriwether, Louise
Pineda, Irene Albayalde, Gladys Ug-
gen and Geraldine Thompson.
Present at the initiation were The
Rev. Nevue of Sitka, The Rev. Rob-
ert L. Whelan, S. J., and the Sisters
of St. Ann's, the Territorial Chair-
woman, Mrs. Catherine Hellan; the
Grand Regent of the Senior Court,
Mrs. Maude Hamlin; Counsel offic-
ers, Mrs. Colleen Bucy, Mrs. Ellen
Zach and Mrs. Helen Wruck.
Counselor, Mrs. Eva Ropella and
Assistant Leader Juanita Diaz con-
ducted the initiation. After the cere-
mony the Charter members held a
short meeting
and refreshments
were served.
The next
meeting will be held
Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock Feb-
ruary 7 at the residence of Mrs Eva
Ropella, 435 Third Street.
