BOGUS CHECK CASHED
BY LOUISVILLE FIRM.

A bogus check operator is working in Louisville, and one case has been reported. At the Model Clothing Company, 718 West Market street, a check for $15 was cashed yesterday. The check was drawn on the Louisville Plate Ice Company and made payable to R. W. McCawley. It was signed A. B. Schwartz. The paper was an old form of the German Insurance Bank, but the bank officials declare it to be a forgery, and say they do not use that form any more. The Louisville Plate Ice Company changed hands several weeks ago. The forger, whose description was given to the detectives, obtained goods worth $4.80 and the balance in cash for the check.
