Full Text

By accounts received from the passengers arrived in the ship Alexandria, Capt. Roach, at Philadelphia, we are informed, that provisions in Ireland are much dearer than ever was known in that part of the world; one shilling and eight pence, sterling, for ten pounds of oat meal; ten pence, for fourteen pounds of potatoes; and it is thought, from all appearance, that the ensuing crop will be equally, if not more defective. Therefore from every information we can collect, have every reason to think, that emigration from thence to this happy land of liberty, will be very extensive in the ensuing spring. It is not only the high price of provisions, but the exorbitant prices of lands, to which landlords have raised their rents.
