Full Text

Horrible.—Mr. Ritchie, the venerable editor of the Richmond Enquirer, says,—the Whigs have elected their candidates in many parts of the State, by the grossest falsehoods and frauds, by the united efforts of the Bank monster and nullification, by cutting and garbling extracts from the President's protest, raising false alarms that the President had closed the Senate and threatened to march in the U. S. Marines, &c. What a wicked and unprincipled set of politicians these Whigs must have been, to have imposed upon the upright, consistent, virtuous, and confiding Jackson men, who have on all occasions conducted their party with the greatest possible purity and honor! horrible!!!
