as
a State Rebekah
Officer.

Next June, Miss Elizabeth Matheney of Colfax lodge of Rebekahs here, will be elected secretary of the Iowa state assembly for the twenty-eighth time.

The plan is that at each annual assembly nominations for state offices are held, and one is elected from the nominees the following June to be installed at the following assembly. At the recent state assembly Miss Matheney was nominated alone for secretary and hence must be elected unanimously next June.

In some former years opposing candidates appeared, but Miss Matheney always beat them easily and by large majorities, and her work is so highly appreciated that she seems to have become the permanent secretary of the Iowa Rebekahs.
