Full Text
This moment an express arrived to Congress, with advice that the enemy's whole army, passing down to New York, attacked Fort Washington by storm, and carried it, but with what expense we cannot yet tell, as we have not the particulars; but as the firing continued long and heavy, it is supposed they met with great loss.---This seems to be the last stroke left for general Howe this campaign. His manoeuvres must now end, and with disgrace, after the monstrous expense and enormous force of this year.
