Boston, Sept. 12.—Two hundred and forty-eight towns in Maine give Connor, rep., 56,918; Talbot, dem., 43,920.
COUNTY RETURNS.
Returns from 20 towns in Somerset county give a republican majority of 866 for Connor. The whole county ticket is elected, and five of the eight representatives are republicans.
All but three towns in Androscoggin county give Connor 4,251, Talbot 3,110. Gage, soft money, 284. Last year the same towns gave 3,103 republican and 2,470 democrat. All the republican representatives and the whole county ticket are elected.
Lincoln county will be very close. Connor's majority will be about 25 in a total vote of about 4,500. The county officers are evenly divided.
Nearly full returns from Knox county make it certain that the republicans have 63 majority in the county on the vote for governor, and elect all the county ticket except a senator and clerk of court.
In Franklin county all the republican representatives to the legislature are elected except one. They also elect a senator and the county ticket by increased majorities.
Waldo county has gone republican though it was democratic last year.
Eight towns in Aroostook county give Powers, rep., for Congress 821, Danforth, dem., 643. The same towns last year gave Plaisted, rep., 624, Madigan, dem., 642. The county has probably gone republican.
ALL REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN ELECTED.
A Boston Advertiser special says: The republicans have swept every congressional district. Thomas B. Reed is elected in the 1st district by about 1,000 majority; Wm. P. Frye in the 2d district, by 2,000; Stephen D. Lindsey in the 3d by 3,500; Major Llewellyn Paine in the 4th district, by about 2,000, and Eugene Hale in the 5th district, by about 2,500.
MAJORITIES FOR CONGRESSMEN.
Boston, Sept. 12. Returns from 48 towns in the 3d Congressional district of Maine give Lindsay, republican, 2,093 majority. The 4th district gives Powers, republican, a majority of probably 1,500. Hale, republican, in the fifth district, has about 3,000, and Frye, republican, in the second, probably has 3,000.
