The Supreme court today is hearing the case of the State of Nevada vs. Sam Bachman, upon an appeal from the District court of Elko county. Bachman was arrested in Elko county for horse stealing, was tried, convicted and sentenced in May, 1916, to a term in the state prison from one to fourteen years. Arguments for a new trial are being made by his counsel, Carey Van Fleet and Joe McNamara of Elko, while the state is represented by E. P. Carville, district attorney of Elko county.
