HATFIELD ARRAIGNED.
SAN JOSE, Cal., Nov. 9.-Secretly, that crowds of curiosity seekers might be avoided, William Hatfield, the Dunham suspect, was taken into Justice Brown's court this afternoon and arraigned on a charge of murder, sworn to by Deputy Sheriff Buffington. The warrant charges James C. Dunham with killing Mattie Wells Dunham. The preliminary examination of the prisoner was set for Wednesday at which time former acquaintances of Dunham will appear and testify as to the identity of the man accused.
