The deficit of $89.25 was made up from the Permanent Pioneers' Home Christmas Fund. I have in previous years explained the method of building up and the purpose of this fund. Obviously this year instead of paying each man $19 and a fraction the logical thing to do was to draw from the permanent fund enough to make even money.
