The down stage to Casa Grande on Thursday afternoon was held up at the dry lake, at the same point it was robbed about a month ago, by two Mexicans and probably the same parties engaged in the previous robbery. They took a watch from the driver, Nelson Caplett, and also some cash and a lot of checks from A. S. Donau, the representative of L. Zeckendorf & Co., of Tucson; the express box and four sacks of mail. The men were not disguised and could talk the English language fluently. So soon as the stage reached Casa Grande the driver telegraphed back to Florence the facts and Under-Sheriff Hinson Thomas, acting in the absence of Sheriff Fryer, immediately deputized George R. Morse and W. P. Bamrick and provided them with money for the purpose of hiring several Indian trailers to hunt the robbers down. Up to the time of going to press nothing has been heard of this party. A party of four also left Casa Grande on the trail of the robbers.
