Copy of a letter from John Johnston, Esq. to the Editor, of the National Intelligencer, dated, Greenville, July 26.
SIR—The treaty with the Indian Tribes assembled at this place, was signed in open Council on the 22d inst. The parties bind themselves to assist in prosecuting the war against Great Britain and the hostile Indians, and to make no peace with either without our consent.
This morning a large force of the warriors set out for Detroit in company with Governor Cass.
A number of Pottawatomies and Kickapoos have arrived here within a few days; more are on the way coming in.
