York, April 10. Last Saturday Richard Turpin, the noted Highwayman, and John Stead, were executed at Tyburn, for Horse-stealing. The latter died very penitent, but the former behav'd with the greatest Assurance to the very last. It was remarkable, that as he mounted the Ladder, his right Leg trembled, on which he stamped it down with an Air; with an undaunted Courage look'd round about him; and after speaking a few Words to the Topman, he threw himself off the Ladder, and expired in about 5 Minutes.
