BALTIMORE, JUNE 6.

Latest proceedings of our friends, the French.

The following paragraph is extracted from the coffee-house books; it will shew that the term, for which we had respite, has expired, and that Napoleon intends to make us feel his displeasure, for not declaring War against England.

Letters by the Perseverance, 43 days from Tonningen, mention, that all the American property sometime since sequestered at Hamburg had been CONFISCATED by special order of the Emperor!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

The Baltimore papers, by the two last mails, contain the following information, received by merchants of respectability in that city, from Hamburgh:

"That by the French Emperor's special order, dated 27th January, emanating from himself, not published, nor otherwise made known at Hamburgh, than by verbal message from the French Custom-House there, to the consignee of the ship Juniata, of this port, about the 15th of March, the cargo of this ship, WITH OTHERS in a similar predicament, was definitively CONFISCATED, and the greater part of it ordered to be transported by land to Paris, to be sold there for consumption. And the Tribunal of Prizes was ordered NOT to take cognizance of any claims for these cargoes."

[In the list of vessels seized at Hamburg, the Juniata, Roby and Betsey, Lucy, Two Friends, and one other, (capt. Hull), were mentioned as sequestered. According to the above letter we should suppose all their cargoes had been confiscated.]

Other letters state, that all the detained American property at Hamburg, had been confiscated, by special order of Bonaparte, (not by the Prize Tribunals) and ordered to Paris.

The following certificates confirm the confiscations noted in the above paragraphs:

"Hamburgh, April 4, 1808.

"Imperial Customs.—The Director of the French Customs certifies, that forty-six seroons bark, weighing 4638 pounds, have been seized by the superintendent of the Customs, Sept. 21, 1807; that the seizure has been confirmed by his Imperial and Royal Majesty.
