TO PROBE FAILURE OF BANK.

Empaneling of Grand Jury Follows Petitions in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City, Ok., Dec. 15.--Petitions are being signed here tonight demanding the empaneling of a grand jury immediately to investigate the cause of the failure of the Columbia Bank and Trust Company. This action is a result of the failure of the Farmers' National Bank of Tulsa, in which C. L. Norton, president of the Columbia, is reported to be interested.

District Judge George W. Clark today issued a call for a grand jury to convene January 3. This jury may satisfy the petitioners.

Mr. Norton denied tonight that he was interested in the Farmers' National Bank of Tulsa or was responsible for its failure.
