New York -- Three of America's outstanding clergymen are in support of the Prayer Pilgrimage For Freedom, it was revealed in letters released today by officials of the organization.
Officials releasing contents of the letters were: Co-Chairmen, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Roy Wilkins and A. Philip Randolph.
Under the auspices of the organization, some 50,000 persons are expected to attend a religious ceremony at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D. C., on May 17th.
"In the midst of such persistent attempts to confuse the issue and discourage people of good will, the high decision to meet hate by love, to seek heaven's help, stands out like a ray of light.
"You can be assured of the wholehearted support in prayer and hope of your many friends of the Catholic faith," wrote Rev. Father John LaFarge, associate editor of the national Catholic weekly, America.
