ROTH URGES MORE NEGRO INTEREST 'N POLITICS

At a meeting Tuesday evening held at St. James AME church guest speaker, Milton Roth (Councilman-at-large) urged emphasized the need for more active participation and interest in politics by Negroes in Gary.

The public meeting was sponsored by Mrs. Lilly Turntine, in behalf of the Arkansas-Georgia group of the church which is competing with groups from Ala- bama and Texas and in state- wide fund raising contest.

Edward "Doc" James responded to the welcome and talked on the Progress of the Negroes in Gary during the past 50 years.
