A Damper.-Objections were made to the nomination of Mr. Collamer for Postmaster General by some of the chivalry in the Senate, on account of the anti-slavery taint in his character. Mr. Seward, the new Senator, brought them all up standing by declaring that he might be held to represent the most radical opinions upon slavery that were upheld by any considerable body of the people north, and it was time there should be an understanding.
