The port and town of Savannah La Mar (the second principal port and town) in Jamaica, having greatly increased in trade and inhabitants for many years past, and being now open as a free port of trade for all nations, the Lords of the Treasury have, in consequence thereof, appointed a collector of the customs there, instead of a naval officer and others who formerly had the management of the revenue arising at that place, and also a surveyor, searchers, and landwaiters, in conjunction under the said collector.
