Work will be resumed Monday on the artesian well.
The time for the city election is rapidly approaching.
A. F. Reeves of Montrose was in town last week on business.
Judge W. D. Brown leaves tomorrow for a week's visit in Denver.
The date for the school entertainment has been set for March 16th.
A marriage license was issued Monday to Ralph King and Anna K. Davis.
Ray Simpson has purchased the two lots opposite his residence on Palmer street.
The little daughter of Mrs. Saylor on Palmer street is quite ill with diphtheria.
John Basselor returned the first of the week from a trip to the Goose Creek country.
Gale Bros. are rapidly pushing the work on the frame portion of the new postoffice building.
The next problem the town will be called upon to solve will be the question of better sewerage.
Frank Sanders and O. H. McKinley are negotiating for the Rollin's brick yard in North Delta.
Word has been received that C. P. Olmsted is quite low with consumption at his home in Denver.
Mel. Graham will move to his new home on Palmer street when he lays a few boards in front for his wife to walk on.
Ike Conklin is wearing a "King Willie" cap. If W. O. Stephens and Bob Williams will buy one, the town will have a holiday.
The taste and complexion of the water for the last few days makes a person wish we had a pipe line to the mesa or the Black canon.
The "Two Jims" had a small sized scrap Saturday over the affections of a fair charmer from up the Uncompahgre. Butcher knives, guns and skillets were the "weapons" brought into use.
Mrs. Gray, who has been teaching in the North Fork country, will teach the unexpired term of Mrs. C. O. Anderson, nee Miss Lula Stephens, in the Gunnison valley, who resigned last week.
Ex-County Commissioner Stevens of Gunnison county was in town last week with his happy smile. He is wearing a fine gold watch, presented by his friends upon his retirement from office in Gunnison.
E. J. Hillman, the jeweler who has Strong's old stand, is now open for business. He will remove to the Stockham building as soon as completed.
The Presbyterian parsonage has "Jerusalem" pillars, or something of the kind, to ornament the artistic front.
On tomorrow evening there will be a lecture at the Methodist church by Rev. J. D. Rankin. His subject will be "Our Boys, by One of Them." Admission 25 cents. A literary treat is expected.
On Monday morning two gallant equestrians, J. Ralph Phillips and H. I. Wolbert, both rode into town on one horse. It was refreshing to see the confiding manner in which Mr. Phillips entwined his arms around Mr. Wolbert's erect and manly form.
J. C. Hancock, of Delta, who ran the ranch store in the Robson building last summer, has bought a third interest in the Telluride Fruit & Produce Co.'s business here, and will come up and attend to the store, while Fred Nydell one of the old firm, will buy and ship ranch produce to the house. Judge King and family and E. V. Caldwell left yesterday for a month's visit through California, stopping at San Francisco, Los Angeles and other points. The Judge and Edd took their bicycles along, and it is supposed Edd will use his to help in his escape from Chinatown, should the Celestials object to his brand of cigars, while he is hunting a place to "hit the pipe" in 'Frisco.
Johnny Shepherd endeavored Monday evening to reduce the size of his feet with the ax, as a result he now sports a crutch.
In the selection of members of the school board this spring, let only persons be chosen who have children in school, and who pay at least $25 taxes.
