New-Orleans, Feb. 4.

TERRITORIAL. LEGISLATURE.

The House of Representatives having passed An act providing for the election of representatives from the country between the territories of Mississippi & Orleans, and between the rivers Mississippi & Perdido, in General Assembly of the Territory of Orleans; the Legislative Council returned the said act amended by striking out the word one & inserting the word four, so that West-Florida would have only four representatives—the House of Representatives would not agree to the amendment, and a committee of conference from both Houses was named; but before the committee had time to report, the Legislative Council acceded to the bill giving West Florida a representation of five members.
