BALTIMORE. Feb. 22.

INTERESTING.

A letter from gen. H—— to a gentleman in Pittsburg, Penn. received on the 17th inst. states that an engagement had taken place between the troops under his command, and the combined British and Indian forces, on the river Raisin, in which the enemy was completely defeated. Their loss is estimated at two thousand, and ours at one thousand two hundred. The reporter left Pittsburg on the day of the receipt of the intelligence, and has proceeded in advance of the mail.
