ALLEGED SLACKER UNDER $300 BOND

LIKE NICKELBERRY GIVEN PRELIMINARY HEARING BEFORE UNITED STATES COMMISSIONER GEORGE WHITE AT ALBANY WEDNESDAY.

Lige Nickelberry, a negro, alleged slacker arrested in Cordele last Tuesday, was given preliminary hearing before United States Commissioner George White at Albany Wednesday and was placed under bond of $300. He has not yet succeeded in making bond.

It is charged that Nickelberry, an ex-convict of this county, recently living in the tenth district, went to Dooly county on registration day and registered under the name of Lige James. He makes the statement now that his step father was named James, but he has offered no explanation of why he went to Dooly county to register. Nickelberry was arrested by local police and turned over to the sheriff.
