Full Text

So unanimous are the citizens of Tennessee in favor of republican principles, that all the candidates, which are four, for the vacant seat in the House of Representatives of the United States, occasioned by the resignation of Mr. Claiborne, are decided republicans, and of course unequivocal friends to the present administration.

The letter of the Governor of Tennessee to Mr. Claiborne, and the vote of thanks of the House of Representatives unanimously adopted, approving his political deportment, are attestations to his merit, which neither envy nor calumny can impair.
