New Additions Made to Aid Service
Special to The Monitor.
DONNA, Feb. 1—J. W. Evans, district rural supervisor for the resettlement administration, announced today that the administration placed at work 14 additional workers to make farm plan and citrus loans in district No. 16 the past week.
This additional help will greatly increase the efficiency of the work that has been going on for some time, and this organization will possibly have the capacity to float as much as $50,000 a week in farm loans for Valley farmers, said Evans.
These loans will be distributed to farmers throughout the four counties of this district, Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy, and make loans for diversified farming as well as carrying on Congressman Milton West's citrus loan program.
The following personnel has been added: Miss Emma Jewel Ross, Alamo, rural home supervisor; J. S. Sanders, La Feria, H. H. Gilliland Jr., Mercedes, and Charles A. Starlin, San Juan, emergency rural supervisors; W. L. Johnson, rural supervisor of Cameron and Willacy counties, has added to his office force Misses Doris Erwin, San Benito, Louise Reynolds, San Benito, and Carolyn Hodge, San Benito, as junior clerk typist. County Rural Supervisor A. G. Spark, Edinburg, has added the following to his office force:
Misses Ida Elnora Smith and Betty Yates, Harlingen, as junior clerk typist. The Donna office has added Misses Ruth B. Paine, Harlingen, Georgia Mae Davis, Alice Eining, Donna, Elda Helman Donna, and Denley Louise Gill, Mission, as junior clerk typist.
Mr. Evans said loan application blanks with complete instructions can be obtained from any chamber of commerce or from the above mentioned offices.
