But Personnel of Delegation Remains in Doubt.
Omaha, March 12.—Several hundred delegates to today's state republican convention gathered during the day and night. Two new candidates for delegates at large appeared during the afternoon, with their friends, and began to campaign for places on the delegation to Chicago. They are Congressman Boyd of the third district and A. L. Clarke of Hastings. It is now evident that the four men slated for membership on the delegation—Governor Sheldon, Norris Brown, Victor Rosewater and Allen W. Fields—will have a contest on their hands when the roll is called for election of delegates and that both Boyd and Clarke will make a good show of strength.
The feature of the day's developments was a decision of the Lancaster (Lincoln) delegation to support the Taft ticket. Lancaster county was the only large county to send a delegation for any other candidate than Taft. It was originally instructed to insist upon the renomination of Roosevelt. It is likely that Taft will be unanimously endorsed by the convention.
