BALTIMORE, May 1.

FRENCHTOWN BURNT.

The stage passengers from Philadelphia bring intelligence that two or three hundred of the enemy have landed below Frenchtown, and succeeded in burning a warehouse, containing $20,30,000 dollars worth of goods, two of the packets that lay between this and Frenchtown, and some outhouses. A small garrison of a few men, stationed below the little town, retarded the operations of the British some time. The enemy's object up the bay appears to be to cut off all communication by water between this city and Philadelphia, and to destroy all the merchandise they can reach on the bay shore and on the navigable waters which flow into it.
