James Powell, born in this Province, about 39 years old, of strong make and constitution, known as an old offender, was executed pursuant to sentence at the last Provincial Court for burglary and robbery in Somerset County. Before conviction, he appeared bold, citing Scripture and accepting his death at 39 years. At execution, he owned the fact, denied being part of Perkins's Gang, fainted due to tight binding, then urged haste and was turned off after prayers.
