October 6. We can assure the Public, from undoubted Authority, that the Troops under the Command of Lieut. General Mordaunt have landed at Rochefort, and when the Express came away, the Fleet, &c. were preparing to bombard it with the utmost Vigour. There are nine Men of War on the Stocks, besides a large Quantity of Stores in the Magazines, and a Fleet of Merchant Ships ready to sail.

Since receiving the foregoing Account, Capt. Skinner in the Viper Sloop of War, is arrived Express from Sir Edward Hawke, and brings Advice, among other Particulars, that he has taken Rochefort, in which was above 2000 Men in Garrison.
