State Game Warden Carl D. Shoemaker autoed into the city Friday night, and this forenoon left for the mouth of the Rogue, where he will investigate conditions in that district. He was accompanied on the trip by B. L. Jewell, deputy state fish warden, of Oregon City; James Driscoll, deputy game warden, and C. H. Flory, assistant district forester, of Portland. They went by way of Crescent City, which point they were due to reach last night, Mr. Flory will visit the Winchuch portions of the Siskiyou reserve while the others of the party go on to Gold Beach and Wedderburn to investigate the fish and game conditions. On their return, it is expected that all the gentlemen will make a trip to the Josephine caves, going in from the Illinois valley side, where they will have a walk of less than five miles over the trail that leads up Cave creek.
