BAPTISM.--An interesting baptismal scene occurred at the First Baptist Church in this city, on Sabbath of last week. Of the four persons baptized three were Swedes, making about twenty-five of this interesting people who have been added to the First Church since brother Frisk commenced his labors last November. At the water and also at the communion afterwards, this company of disciples, embracing Swedes, Norwegians and Danes united in singing one of their hymns in their own language, the rest of the church afterwards singing one of ours. The scene was heavenly, to see the representatives of different and distant nations thus mingling their accents in the song of Redemption. It was the realization of the Saviour's promise:--"They shall come from the East and from the West, and from the North and from the South, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God." It is contemplated soon to organize an independent church of Scandinavian Baptists, and to ordain brother Frisk as their pastor.
