PARTY AT TASLEY
ENDS WITH SHOOTING
OF COLORED WOMAN

Isabella White Dies From Bullet Wounds Inflicted By Lemon Keaton

Isabella White, of Tasley, was shot four times with fatal results following a party at the White woman's home Thursday night about 11 o'clock. The shots were fired by Lemon Keaton described as being the woman's "man." It seems that at the party one Orange Belote showered his attentions on the White woman and that it was resented by Keaton. Following a fuss Keaton shot her three times in the stomach. She ran out of the house and tried to got to the home of George Gunter, colored, about 40 feet away but fell dead on the door step, Keaton having shot her a fourth time, the last one entering her heart.

The woman lived in one of the colored houses facing the railroad station but located on the west side of the railroad tracks. Keaton had not been arrested at the time of going to press. All of the parties in the affair are colored persons.
