FROM THE BOSTON PATRIOT.

What can the Boston friends of peace and order now say about Baltimore mobs—Salem riots, &c. When have the Republicans ever been guilty of so gross a violation of the peace and laws as that of the Boston desperadoes on Monday last? Here is a direct attack upon the sovereign authority of the United States. A privateer with a regular commission from the President, detains a vessel upon just grounds of suspicion that she had violated the laws; a mob of the peaceable Bostonians arm themselves, and wrest the vessel by force from the legal captors; confine them forcibly in the hold, and otherwise maltreat them. This is a pretty specimen truly of their regard for the sovereignty of the laws; a pretty comment upon their professions of contempt and detestation of mobs, riots, &c. After this let us hear no more about Baltimore mobs.
